Robotic Hysterectomy

Everywhere you turn, there are articles and advertisements touting the benefits of robotic surgery, so it’s no surprise that our patients routinely ask if their scheduled hysterectomy will be performed using a robot. And in many cases, the answer is yes!

BioTE Hormone Replacement Therapy for Men and Women

BioTE Medical provides bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) to help solve hormone imbalances in both women and men. Your hormones are one of the most important regulatory systems that exist in your body, as they act as messengers, interacting with specific target cells and organs to stimulate them into action. As we age, hormone production changes and hormone imbalance can occur.

Minimally Invasive Surgery

As technology advances, gynecological surgical options are expanding.  Minimally invasive surgery is becoming more and more common. These procedures are performed through tiny incisions instead of one large opening. Because the incisions are small, patients tend to enjoy faster recovery times and less discomfort than with conventional surgery, but with all of the same benefits.

Endometrial Ablation

We perform endometrial ablation for the treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding. The procedure includes the surgical destruction of the tissues that line the uterus, known as the endometrium.

The abnormal bleeding is sometimes the result of a non-cancerous condition, but this procedure is not a sufficient treatment option when bleeding is caused by uterine cancer. This is because the cancerous cells might be in the deepest tissues of the uterus and therefore can’t be taken out using this procedure.

Permanent Sterilization

So you’re done having children and your partner feels the same way. Now what? We’re here to educate you regarding your options for permanent birth control.

Permanent contraception is the most common type of contraception overall, and it is a particularly common choice for women over the age of 35. There are two primary forms of female sterilization – a fairly new nonsurgical implant system, and the traditional tubal ligation procedure.

Treatment of STDs

Everyone who is sexually active should be screened for sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s) on an ongoing basis. Because STD’s are relatively common and they can often go undetected, testing is of the utmost importance, especially for those with more than one sexual partner. This is true even if you use condoms every time you engage in sexual intercourse.

Treatment Options for Uterine Fibroids

Uterine fibroids are noncancerous growths of the uterus that often appear during childbearing years. They aren’t associated with an increased risk of uterine cancer and almost never develop into cancer.
